 Easy to install! December 21, 2008
The wall mount is great for people who have a 50 inch screen or bigger. I think it is recommended to not have any tv bigger than a 65 inch. Trust me, it will hold it if installed correctly! I have never used such huge bolts before. (Come with the mount) Also, it will have the bolt for the back of the tv in the packaging. Tilt is easy to use! I have a 52 inch Sharp Aquos hanging on the wall with this mount. Best thing I ever did for my home entertainment!

The beams in my wall are not 16 on center. I had to install this mount off center from where I wanted the TV. Luckily they include extension bars to add to either end. The TV is eactly where I wanted it and you would never know the mount is off center. Don't underestimate how heavy these TVs are especially when holding it up in an ackward position. Make sure you have a strong helper. Also there are two hinges that lock the TV onto the mount. These were set in the lock position from the factory. The TV will not go on the mount unless you unlock these! Attach (then remove)the TV to the mount before you install the mount to the wall for practice. Then when you are holding your expensive TV in the air you are familiar with mounting it!

It was a very good price for this type of item. Usually when mounting a Plasma or LCD TV on the wall it will need to tilt down some. This one tilts down about 15 degrees and up about 5 degrees. That is usually excellent for most.

I bought this mount for a 50" panasonic plasma. The mount was very sturdy, has enough hardware, has a nice template, but has a few other less obvious problems. It leaves minimal clearance between the TV and wall so you may have some issues trying to physically plug all the cables into your TV after you hang it on the mount. The clearance issue also doesn't allow my TV the full range of tilt. Also, the box it came in was all taped together and had obviously been opened before - and sure enough I was missing some things. Omnimount was nice enough to replace the parts, but it delayed my installation by a week.

This bracket is the way to go. There's a template included that makes it so easy, it took less than an hour to mount our new 42" Panasonic plasma perfectly. You must screw it into studs, but the bracket is designed so well, it can accomodate many different widths between them. It may cost a bit more than other mounts, but it's totally worth it.
